Juventus are reportedly planning to make a move for Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek next summer. The former Ajax star has had to struggle for playing minutes in the Premier League since his move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

According to CalcioMercato, Juventus are interested in taking the 23-year-old on loan with an option to buy worth €35million. The Netherlands international scored against the Bianconeri last season in the Champions League while he was still at Ajax, and was linked with the Old Lady throughout the summer.

There is already talk of him leaving the Old Trafford side next year, and Andrea Pirlo will try to reunite him with former team-mate Matthijs de Ligt at the Allianz Stadium.

Van de Beek signed a five-year contract with United in a deal worth a reported £40million. While he has found opportunities in the Premier League hard to come by, Van de Beek put in a solid performance during United's midweek Champions League win over Istanbul Basaksehir at Old Trafford.

Former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves believes Van de Beek has now played himself into the starting line-up thanks to his performance. "Van de Beek is so unselfish that he can just fit in," he said. "I think he's played himself into the starting lineup."

United legend Rio Ferdinand added: "I was really was pleased with him. We've been impatient ourselves but Ole has shown why he has been thought of so highly. He's the one player than can play one-touch two-touch and keep it simple. He sacrifices parts of his game to help other people and you need that in great times."
