Jurgen Klopp is reportedly on Barcelona's five-man shortlist to replace Ronald Koeman at Camp Nou.

Koeman is under pressure following Barca's form of late - the Catalan giants have won just one of their last five games, and were beaten 3-0 by Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The club have gone through a tough summer where due to their financial woes they were unable to bring in new signings and also had to let go of Lionel Messi, who eventually joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

According to El Nacional, if Koeman is dismissed, Klopp, along with current Belgium boss, Roberto Martinez, is on Barca's shortlist.

Camp Nou legend, Xavi Hernandez, who has been in charge of All Sadd in Qatar since 2019, has also been linked with the hotseat. The report adds that Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag and Andrea Pirlo also make the list.

Klopp's current deal at Liverpool runs until 2024, and Barca would have to pay a huge sum to lure him away from Anfield at the moment.

Esport3 also report that complications in Koeman's deal mean Barca must pay €6 million to him if his contract doesn't go beyond two years.

Following the midweek's humbling loss in Lisbon, Koeman stated: "I'm not going to argue about the level of my team. There's no point in comparing this with Barcelona teams of years gone by. That's as clear as water."

He added: "I can only give you my opinion of my work at the club - I feel backed by my players and their attitude."
