Former Argentina international Juan Roman Riquelme believes Lionel Messi will win the Champions League with PSG, and has backed the six-time Ballon d'Or winner to retire at Barcelona.

Messi joined PSG on a two-year contract with option for another year during the 2021 summer transfer window after Barcelona announced they could not give the Argentine a new contract at the club.

PSG already had one of the best squads in the world even before they signed Messi, and the former Barcelona star's arrival makes the French behemoths arguably an even better side. The Ligue 1 outfit are considered as one of the favourites to win the Champions League, and Riquelme believes if they do not taste European glory now with Messi on their roster, they never will.

"If PSG don't win the Champions League now with Messi, they never will," the Argentine legend told ESPN [via Marca].

Riquelme also hailed Messi as the best player in the world, stating: "Messi is the best because he likes play with the ball."

The former Boca Juniors star also believes Messi will win the Champions League with PSG, and has predicted the 34-year-old will end his career at Barcelona. He said: "I think that Messi will win the Champions League with PSG and retire at Barcelona."
