John Terry signed up for Twitter and it wasn't long before the Chelsea legend made his mark on the social media platform.
The 40-year-old announced on his official Instagram that he had signed up for Twitter, and received a "warm welcome" from former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen.
Pietersen tweeted: “A warm welcome to a captain who would have laughed his head off at how poor Man Utd are! Welcome to [Twitter] [John Terry]!”
Football fan @davidmnufc aimed a brutal dig at Terry replying, "best make sure wife doesn't follow him". However, Terry was in no mood to back down and hit back with a savage response.
The former England skipper tweeted: “Your [sic] safe David, just seen yours on your account.” David admitted that the Chelsea legend had buried him with a “belting response" but Terry wasn't done just yet.
He shot back with another reply, saying, "She can’t be that bad [as] she doesn’t even make it on your Twitter account."
The initial tweet was in reference to Terry's infamous bust-up with Wayne Bridge in 2010, when he was accused of having an affair with his former team-mate's former girlfriend, Vanessa Perroncel.
