James Rodriguez has ruled out a return to Real Madrid, amid rumours of a move away from Everton this summer.

Rodriguez joined Everton from Real Madrid last summer, but the Colombian international has been rumoured with a return to the Spanish capital this summer, following Los Blancos' appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager.

Rodriguez, however, has ruled out a return to Real Madrid. "I don't think [I will return to Real Madrid]. It's a closed cycle that I won't be repeating," the Everton midfielder told fans on Twitch, as quoted by Marca.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez's Everton future is far from certain after the departure of Ancelotti and arrival of Rafa Benitez, and the midfielder himself admitted he does not know where he will be playing next season.

I don't know what's going to happen this season," the former Real Madrid midfielder said. "I don't know where I'm going to play."

He added: "In football and in life you don't know anything, but all I know is that I've been training hard, preparing well, training for myself and that's it.

"The situation is complicated. I'll play wherever they want me. You have to be at a place where they want you."
