Manchester United are reportedly planning to offer Jadon Sancho to Barcelona following his disappointing start to life at Old Trafford.

After being long-term admirers of the Borussia Dortmund man, the Red Devils finally snapped up the 21-year-old last summer in a whopping £73m deal. But the England international has failed to replicate his fine form in Manchester, having scored just twice in 23 appearances.

According to El Nacional, United could allow Sancho to leave if they receive a suitable bid for the winger. The report adds that the youngster is reportedly "on the table" for Barcelona, as Xavi continues to look to bolster his squad.

Sancho is under contract with the Red Devils until 2026, however, the LaLiga giants have "not ruled out" signing him in the summer.

The report goes on to claim that United aren't willing to part with Sancho for less than £50m, which could be problematic for cash-strapped Barcelona.

Rangnick admitted on Tuesday that Sancho had been struggling with the pressure that comes with such a big-money move. “It’s a different league and he is playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world. It’s also got to do with a lot of the things up here in his head,” he said.

“It’s different if you come as an 18-year-old, unknown talented English boy to Borussia Dortmund. From then on, you can only improve. You can only make a success out of that. The level of expectation was a lot lower compared to situation where you come to a club like Manchester United for a high transfer fee with a high level of expectation.

“Everyone expected from him that he would be one of the best players in the team. This is psychologically and emotionally a more challenging situation than the one at Borussia Dortmund. He has the ability to do that, there is no doubt about that. But now we have to develop him into that kind of player and the same kind of performances that he has shown at Borussia Dortmund.”
