Mehta played with NorthEast United in the recently concluded 2020-21 season and was by far their best performer throughout the season as he helped guide them to a playoff place for the second time in their history.
The Mumbai-born defender appeared in 18 matches for NorthEast United where he scored one goal and provided two assists. He made 22 crosses, 62 tackles, 23 interceptions and 50 clearances and completed 426 passes.
Mehta was pretty impressive in the 2019-20 season too when he played and won the league with the then I-League side Mohun Bagan before moving to the Highlanders.
And a reported by Goal, it looks like Mehta could be making a return to ATK Mohun Bagan before the start of the next ISL season.
ATK Mohun Bagan have been pretty active in the transfer market. After signing Liston Colaco from Hyderabad FC, they are almost nearing signing Ashutosh, who will solve their issues at right-back.
Mehta is known for his pacy runs into the opponent's half and his incredible ability to come up with pin-point crosses will go a long way in solving Antonio Habas' wing problems.
