Hyderabad FC head coach, Manolo Marquez admitted that he was not happy with his side losing their Indian Super League (ISL) semi-final second leg 1-0 to ATK Mohun Bagan, but was happy that the club reached their first ever final.
Hyderabad went into the semi-final second leg with a 2 goal lead, but lost the game 1-0 with Roy Krishna scoring the only goal of the game to bring the deficit down to only a goal. In the end it did not matter as Marquez's side qualified for the final on a 3-2 aggregate, something which he is happy about.
“Practically, we didn’t play. I think that ATK Mohun Bagan controlled every action of the game. But we should be happy, it’s not every day that you reach the final of the Hero ISL," he said post the game.
The Spaniard who has vast experience as a manger also revealed that he is keen to see Hyderabad fans in the stadium as he believes that they would inspire them against a Kerala side who no doubt will have their supporters present to push them on.
"I think that now with people in the stands it would be a good final. But I want our fans to be there, I know that Manjappada, Kerala has a lot of fans. I want to tell Hyderabad supporters that it would be very good if they can come to PJN Stadium on Sunday," the 53-year-old added.
Hyderabad will face Kerala Blasters in the final on Sunday, March 20 at the PJN Stadium, Fatorda in what promises to be an exciting encounter for the Hero ISL title.
