Indian Super League's reigning champions Mumbai City FC have made their first foreign signing of the transfer window by roping in Igor Angulo.
The Spaniard was being heavily scouted by Odisha FC for almost a month and almost signed for them before the Islanders came in to steal the deal.
Mumbai City FC announced the signing on Twitter much to the surprise of fans.
Fans even reacted in decent numbers to this announcement.
Angulo will now join Mumbai City's foreign contingent alongside Moroccan midfielder Ahmed Jahouh and Senegalese defender Mourtada Fall as they prepare to defend their title next season.
Boumous was another played who made the move from FC Goa to the Islanders last year but has now made the move to ATK Mohun Bagan in a record transfer.
Mumbai also allowed Adam Le Fondre and Bartholomew Ogbeche to join other clubs this summer, but have now landed Angulo, a striker with a proven goalscoring record in the ISL.
Despite being 37-years of age, Angulo may surprise a lot of people this season as he has been consistently delivering in his five seasons abroad and in Indian football.
