Inter CEO Beppe Morata has insisted that Romelu Lukaku isn't for sale this summer as transfer links to Chelsea continue.
The Blues are keen to bring in a new striker and have made Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland their top target, but the Bundesliga giants are adamant to hold on to their prized asset. Thomas Tuchel's side have been eyeing up other potential targets, and Lukaku is one of the top names on their list.
Inter's CEO has warned Chelsea in their pursuit of the Belgian. He told Sport Mediaset (via Goal): "From our side, we can yes absolutely, Lukaku is not for sale. Lukaku is an important piece on the chessboard available to Simone Inzaghi."
The Serie A champions are going through a difficult financial situation, and have needed to offload Achraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain to help balance out their wage books.
Lukaku returned to pre-season training and declared that he will stay with Inter next season. "Yes, I am staying," the striker told VTM before the start of Euro 2020. "I’ve already had contact with the man who normally becomes our new manager [Simone Inzaghi]. Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet… but it was a very positive conversation."
