Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone has hailed striker, Luis Suarez after the Uruguayan scored a late winner to give his side an important win against Osasuna on Sunday and put them on course to win their first LaLiga title since 2014.
Suarez saved Atletico by scoring the winner in the 88th minute after the scores were level 1-1 going into the end of the game, with the Uruguayan enjoying an impressive debut campaign for his new club, scoring 20 goals in all competitions so far.
“He is always there. He gives us leadership and who better than him(Suarez) to solve a game that we could have lost without him. We will prepare with the same enthusiasm for the final day as we have done since I arrive in 2011. The team will be fierce and I want the fans to continue to feel proud of what we have done," Simeone said post the game.
The win on the night means that Atletico go into the final game of the season with a two point lead over rivals, Real Madrid - with Simeone's side facing relegation battlers, Real Valladolid, knowing that a win on the night would ensure that they win the title.
