'Great victory' - Cristiano Ronaldo sends message to Man United fans after Burnley win

Manchester United superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to social networking site, Instagram to send a message to the Red Devil fans following their 3-1 win over Burnley in the Premier League on Thursday in what was the club's final game of the calendar year.

Ronaldo himself scored United's third goal of the game in the 35th minute after his side took the lead courtesy of a striker from Scott McTominay in the eighth minute while Burnley's, Ben Mee's own goal also added to his sides woes.

The win on the night meant that the Red Devils jumped to sixth in the league table with 31 points from 18 games, level on points with West Ham United, and this win was celebrated by the five-time Ballon d'Or award winner who was clearly overjoyed with all three points.

"Best way to end the year! Great victory," Ronaldo wrote on Instagram as he looks forward to leading his side to greater heights come 2022.

The 36-year-old for his part has enjoyed a brilliant return to Old Trafford, scoring 14 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions and he has been a key performer on the pitch as without him the Red Devils might not find themselves placed sixth in the league and in all probability would not have qualified for the knockout stage of the Champions League.
