Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma has dropped a huge hint that Argentina icon, Lionel Messi is close to joining the Ligue 1 giants after admitting that the striker will be moving to France "soon".
Barcelona shocked the footballing world last week when they announced that would not be willing to offer Messi a new contract and that their greatest ever player would be leaving the Nou Camp after 21 years.
PSG have been heavily linked with a move for the record six-time Ballon d'Or award winner and reports state that the club management have launched a bid for the player - offering him a two-year contract offer with the option for a further year.
The club would also be willing to offer Messi a €25million signing on fee, as well as an annual salary equalling that amount if he chooses to complete a switch to the Parc des Princes, and now Donnarumma believes that a deal is almost over the line.
“It’s not official yet, but I think it will be soon. I am delighted that he is coming here. He is great; the best in the world. I am excited and happy at the thought of having him on the team. It’ll be an honour to play with him," he told TuttoMercatoWeb.
PSG have had a brilliant summer transfer window so far, with the club already signing the likes of Sergio Ramos, Georginio Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi and Donnarumma himself. If they manage to get the Messi deal over the line, then they would be the definite favourites to win the Champions League this season.
