Barcelona defender Gerard Pique admitted he was annoyed his side did not manage to beat LaLiga leaders Atletico Madrid in Saturday's top-of-the-table clash.

Ronald Koeman's side played out a drab 0-0 draw as they missed out on the chance to go top of the league table, giving Real Madrid the chance to take the number one spot if the beat Sevilla on Sunday.

“We expected to win, but we are still alive. We had more chances and we competed well,” he told a post match interview with Movistar+ (h/t Marca). “We are alive, and based on how La Liga is playing out and I think we still have options.

“Anything can happen, because that is what happens in La Liga. It is true that Real Madrid, if they win all four games, will be champions, but it will be difficult. I think by winning our three remaining games we have options. Our idea is to win every game and compete until the end.”

When asked for his thoughts on the game, Pique added: "It’s hard to create chances against Atlético Madrid. You have to take advantage of the clear ones. Leo’s is saved by Oblak, Ousmane’s… We have generated enough chances to score at least one goal. Although, especially in the first half, they did create much more than us.”

Barca visit Levante next, then hosting Celta Vigo before visiting struggling Eibar on the final day of the season. "I think if we win all three we’ll have a chance," Pique added.
