Gary Neville has claimed Antonio Conte will never take charge at Manchester United for he believes the former Chelsea boss will not be a good fit at Old Trafford.

Questions have been raised about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future at the club following the Red Devils' abysmal run of form; a 4-2 loss to Leicester over the weekend being the latest in the string of bad results.

United are winless in their last three Premier League outings, and a number of candidates have been linked to the hot seat if the club decide to sack the Norwegian. Conte, who has led Chelsea and Inter to league titles in the past, is out of work after leaving the Nerazzurri in the summer.

But despite his past experience, Neville doesn't expect Conte to be appointed by United. "Conte won’t be the manager at Manchester United I don’t think,” the Sky Sports pundit said on Instagram live.

"I don’t think they’ll go for that option, personally. He’s a great manager but I think certain managers fit certain clubs and I don’t think Conte fits United personally. As I say, great manager but doesn’t feel right for me that one.

“I’m not into that - giving someone a squad. We tried that with Jose, ‘Give Jose a squad and we’ll definitely win the league.’ We didn’t and in the end it was a mess and everybody wanted him out.

"Ole is under pressure, but they won't sack him, there's no doubt about that. I know that won't please some of you, some of you want a new manager."
