Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has claimed that Toni Kroos is the "transfer of the century", according to his agent, Volker Struth.

Kroos signed for Los Blancos from Bayern Munich in 2014 and has gone on to make 334 appearances across competitions. The German has also struck up a fantastic partnership with Luka Modric and Casemiro, and has gone on to establish as one of the best midfielders in the world.

While Cristiano Ronaldo banged in the goals for Madrid, becoming the club's record goal-scorer after scoring 450 goals in 10 years at the club, Perez does not think the current Manchester United star has not been Real’s most important transfer this century.

That's according to Kross' agent, Struth, who told OMR-Podcast: "He [Perez] is an unbelievably pleasant person with a great life story. He is entrepreneurial but remains human. He explained to me why Toni Kroos is Real Madrid’s transfer of the century.”

Kroos has won thirteen trophies during his time with Madrid, including two LaLiga's, two Spanish Cups, and three Champions League trophies.

The 31-year-old ruffled some feathers earlier this month when he claimed that Lionel Messi did not deserve this year's Ballon d'Or and added that his Madrid teammate Karim Benzema deserved the honour.

"It's absolutely not deserved," Kroos said on his official podcast. "There is no doubt that Messi, with Cristiano [Ronaldo], has been the player of the last decade, but this year there should've been others ahead of him."

Kroos added: "For me, Karim would have been the number one if you were really looking for the best individual player of the last year, because I can see from close quarters what an outstanding footballer he is.”
