Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo could have bagged an incredible backheel assist against Atalanta in the Copa Italia final if not for the poor finishing of his club teammate Federico Chiesa.

The Bianconeri won the final 2-1 against a 10-man Atalanta side. This meant Ronaldo added yet another major trophy to his personal collection of honours won.

During the match, Ronaldo came up with several great moments, none greater than when he came close to registering possibly the best assist of the season in the second half.

Here's the video:

Ronaldo ran into the Atalanta's box and puzzled the defenders with an incredible back-heel.

The Portuguese maestro's touch on the backheel was so precise that Chiesa just had to place the ball on either side of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini in order to score a goal.

However, Chiesa took a touch before a weak right-footed curler ended up striking the post.

Ronaldo was seen with his hands up in the air, reacting in disbelief over Chiesa's miss.

Juve will now turn attention back to the Serie A as the final day of the season arrives with the Bianconeri risking losing out on the UEFA Champions League next season.
