FC Barcelona Weigh Up Move for Raheem Sterling

FC Barcelona are weighing up a move for Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling as they look to rebuild their squad ahead of next season.

Barcelona concluded the previous season on a disappointing note after failing to win La Liga, though they avoided enduring another trophyless campaign by winning the Copa del Rey title.

The Catalan outfit have already landed Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia and Emerson Royal, while Memphis Depay is close to joining the club on a free transfer.

According to SPORT, Sterling have joined the list of players Barcelona are considering making a move for. It's said the England international would also listen to offers, having not featured as much as he would have liked in the final stretch of the season.

Barcelona know a cash-only deal will be difficult to pull off in the club's current financial situation, and are willing include makeweights to reduce the cost of the operation.

The Spanish outlet add Sterling would be a replacement for Ousmane Dembele, who has not yet agreed to a contract extension. The Frenchman's current contract with Barcelona expires next year, and while the Blaugrana would like him to commit his future to the club beyond 2022, Dembele has insisted he is in 'no rush' to renew it. Barca have also put him in the transfer market, and will listen to offers for the 24-year-old.
