Italy got their Euro 2020 campaign off to a flyer after a comfortable 3-0 win over Turkey in Rome.
An own goal from Merih Demiral handed Italy the lead in the early minutes of the second half before Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne wrapped up the three points for the Azzurri.

Mancini's side came into this match on the back of a 27-match unbeaten run and they dominated the game right from the first whistle.

They also went close with a couple of headers from corners just after the 20-minute point in the game.

Turkey started looking pretty tired towards the end of the first half itself and it was obvious since then that they will face a lot of issues in the rest of the game.

The intense pressure on Turkey's defence finally gave off in the 53rd minute courtesy of Demiral's own goal. Berardi sent in a cross from the wing and Demiral could not do anything except chest the ball into his own net.

The floodgates opened right after that goal, but Turkey managed to maintain themselves in the game for 13 odd minutes before a scramble in their box led to Ciro Immobile pouncing on a loose ball in front of Turkey's goal.

The Lazio striker slammed the ball home to double Mancini's side's advantage.

Insigne eventually dropped the curtains on the game in the 79th minute after a beautifully curled shot from Lorenzo Insigne handed them a comfortable 3-0 win.

Turkey will now face Wales next in Group A action, while Italy play Switzerland, with both games scheduled to be played on Wednesday, June 16.
