Kylian Mbappe has over the past two-three years established himself as the best young striker in the world, with many tipping him to take over as the best player in the world once Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi decide to retire from the sport.

The 22-year-old comes into Euro 2022 in sizzling form, as he finished the Ligue 1 as the top goalscorer with 27 goals - with a total of 42 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions.

2. Harry Kane (England) - €120m

While Tottenham Hotspur might have had a season to forget, their star man was in top form in the 2020/21 season - scoring 23 goals and registering 14 goals in the Premier Leagye to win the Golden Boot award.

The England skipper became only the third person in PL history to end with the most goals and assists in the league and he will be key if the Three Lions are to make a dent in the tournament.

3. Romelu Lukaku (Belgium) - €100m

That Manchester United decided to sell Romelu Lukaku in 2019 surprised many and the Old Trafford's loss has been Inter Milan's gain as he has been in brilliant form for them.

The Belgian scored 24 goals in the Serie A last season, finishing as the leagues second top goalscorer and helping Inter win their first league title in 11 years.

4. Frenkie de Jong (Netherlands) - €90m

Frenkie de Jong showed why he is so highly rated in football, performing excellently in midfield for Barcelona after a middling debut season. The Dutchman who is known for his positioning sense, ability to keep possession in midfield and ball playing abilities netted seven goals and registered eight assists in what was a disappointing season for the Catalan giants.

How he performs in midfield will determine where the Dutch eventually end up in the competition.

5. Joshua Kimmich (Germany) - €90m

A future great, Joshua Kimmich is capable of playing both as a right-back and in central midfield - though he has been playing more in midfield off late. The 26-year-old was in excellent form as usual for Bayern Munich last season, scoring four goals and registering 10 assists as they won their ninth successive Bundesliga title.

Kimmich has been used mostly in midfield by Joachim Low, where he has excelled as usual.
