Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has claimed that Erling Haaland will remain at the club next season despite interest from a number of top European clubs.

Haaland is one of the hottest prospects in the transfer market right now, and Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United are all keen on adding the 20-year-old to their attacking ranks.

But Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl insists he is confident that Haaland will remain at the club. "I understand that Erling Haaland will play for Borussia Dortmund in the new season," Kehl told the Sport1 broadcaster's Doppelpass program (h/t AS).

"Erling totally agrees. I see him every day and I can say that he completely identifies with the club," he added.

Haaland's agent, Mino Raiola sparks rumours last month, when he met with several clubs along with the player's father. Raiola told AS last week that Real Madrid can afford to buy Haaland this summer despite president Florentino Perez claiming otherwise.

Perez had previously claimed that no club would be able to afford to sign Haaland and Kylian Mbappe without the financial backing of the European Super League. Only Madrid and Barcelona remain a part of the ESL, which was formed last month, as 10 of the original founding clubs backed out after facing severe backlash from fans and former players.
