Erling Haaland was quick to reassure fans after his reaction following Borussia Dortmund drew 2-2 with FC Koln sparked rumours online.
Haaland scored both of Dortmund's goals, but wasn't able to guide his side to victory. At full-time, he took off his shirt, passed it to Koln defender Jorge Mere, and went straight down the tunnel.
The Norwegian's future has been a subject of much discussion, with Real Madrid keen on signing the talented 20-year-old. And Haaland's reaction after the game raised a number of eyebrows, but he was quick to respond.
Taking to Instagram, Haaland said: “Not a great result. We will use this as motivation to be back stronger! Thanks to all the Borussia Dortmund fans for your continued support. We’ll be back soon!”
Reports from Marca yesterday claimed that Haaland favours a move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the upcoming summer transfer window. Zinedine Zidane's side are eager to close a deal for Haaland, who they believe will be easier to sign than Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
He is out of contract at the end of the next season, and is said to have a release clause of €75million in his current contract. Manchester United were keen on signing Haaland last summer, and although they remain interested, Dortmund are adamant not to lose their star player.
