Former Manchester United striker, Dimitar Berbatov has opened up on the hardest worker in training during his time at Old Trafford, revealing that there was one player who worked harder than footballing superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo is widely considered to be the fittest and hardest worker in football, but Berbatov named Red Devils legend, Gary Neville as the star who would lead by example on the training ground.
Neville who is one of the best football pundits at present has been vocal on social media of late about the lack of professionalism in the United team compared to when he was at the club and the Bulgarian has given an insight as to why the former England international holds such strong views.
"Purely on training and wanting to produce in every training session and working hard, I must say Gary Neville is up there. He trained very hard every session to be honest. It was just like his professionalism and wanting to still show that he was better than the other players around him," he told FootyAccums.
“He made an impression on me of that willingness even at that age, when I was there (United), he was still showing the young lads that he’s better than them. That was impressive," Berbatov added.
Berbatov for his part spent four years at Old Trafford, scoring 56 goals in 149 appearances in all competitions and helping the club win two Premier League titles.
