Argentina icon, Diego Maradona's son, Diego Sinagra is convinced that record seven-time Ballon d'Or award winner, Lionel Messi will leave Paris Saint-Germain and return to former club, Barcelona in the summer.

PSG completed arguably the biggest signing in football history when they managed to land the 34-year-old on a free transfer last summer after it emerged that Barcelona would not be able to offer Messi a new contract. The striker joined his old friend Neymar Junior at the Parc des Princes and while he hasn’t played badly by any means he’s yet to hit the heights we know he can.

What club wasn’t going to miss him? For me they’re coping well. But I’m convinced that Lionel Messi will return to Barcelona. Maybe this coming summer. He doesn’t look happy [at PSG]. Obviously he’s a great player and when you play like he can you can play anywhere in the world. But he should be at Barcelona, without a doubt," Sinagra told Diario Sport.

Despite the criticism aimed at Messi for his performances for PSG, the player has still managed to score seven goals and register nine assists in 22 appearances in all competitions so far this season and he will remain key if the club are to win their maiden Champions League title come the end of the campaign.
