Donny van de Beek has reportedly agreed to a move to Everton on loan, thus ending his horror spell at Manchester United with the Mirror reporting that the Premier League side have won the race to sign the midfielder.
The report states that Crystal Palace were also in the race to sign the Dutchman, though Everton is his preferred choice, with the club set to pay his full salary as they look to strengthen their midfield. Former director of football Marcel Brands was keen on snapping up his countryman on deadline day only for Solskjaer to block a move.
While former Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard has agreed to become the new manager of Everton but an announcement is yet to come, however, the former English midfielder was also privy to talks on the Van de Beek deal.
Van de Beek’s imminent departure is one of several transfers at Old Trafford that could be completed before Monday night’s deadline. The 24-year-old was signed amid high expectations, but he has surprisingly not been trusted by the club management and has struggled for gametime.
The Dutchman has played only a meager 50 games for the Red Devils, with many of them coming from the bench.
