Footballing legend and Inter Miami co-owner, David Beckham has reportedly held talks with Argentina icon, Lionel Messi over a potential move to Major League Soccer (MLS) once he ends his tenure with Paris Saint-Germain.
According to Daily Mirror, the talks between the legends happened when the PSG striker recently purchased a $7million (£5m) apartment in Miami, with Beckham in the past promising to bring a superstar to South Florida.
The 34-year-old for his part has in the past opened up on his desire to play in the MLS in the future, with Inter Miami co-owner, Jorge Mas even revealing that they were optimistic of the signing the record six-time Ballon d'Or award winner once his two-year deal with PSG ends.
"I am optimistic Messi will play in an Inter Miami shirt because I think it will complete the legacy of the greatest player in our generation and will meet with the ambitions of the owners of Inter Miami to build a world-class team," he told Miami Herald.
"David and I have been working really hard, we have aspirations of bringing the best players here and Messi is a generational player, arguably the best player of all time."
The 34-year-old is yet to make his debut for PSG as he builds up his fitness following his late return to pre-season training after helping Argentina win the Copa America last month.
