Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo is finally set to play his first pre-season game for the Bianconeri this season as the Turin based side faces Spanish giants, Barcelona in the Joan Gamper trophy on Sunday.

Barcelona will host the Serie A giants at the Nou Camp on Sunday in a friendly game and while the Catalan giants will be without Lionel Messi, following his shocking exit from the club - his long-term rival is expected to be present on the field.

Ronaldo's future at the club has come under intense speculation following Juventus' poor 2020/21 season, with rumours circulating following the absence of the 36-year-old in their first two pre-season friendlies against Cesena and Monza.

Calciomercato reports that the striker is expected to lead the Bianconeri's attack on Sunday, considering that Juventus boss, Max Allegri adamant on playing in 4-3-3 tactical formation. This means that Ronaldo is expected to start in attack, along with Dejan Kulusevski and Alvaro Morata - with the Portugal icon set to start on the left-wing.

The 36-year-old was his usual brilliant self in front of goal last season, scoring 36 goals in all competitions and the Bianconeri management will be hoping that he continues in the same vein in the upcoming 2021/22 campaign as they look to wrest back the Serie A title from rivals, Inter Milan.
