Footballing superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo took to social networking site, Instagram to send a message to his fans to ask fans to support his country Portugal, who have qualified for the upcoming 2022 World Cup.

“Goal achieved, we’re at the Qatar World Cup, we’re in our rightful place! Thank you to all the Portuguese for the tireless support! Power Portugal," the striker wrote on Instagram.

After wins against Turkey and North Macedonia, managing to avoid an eliminated Italy, Portugal are through and have sealed their spot in Qatar. Ronaldo had told RTP in the lead-up to the fixture, ‘it’s the game of our lives’, which showed how seriously he was taking it. He was desperate to be at Qatar, missing out would have been a humiliation considering his standing in the game.

The tournament will be Fernandes’ first World Cup, along with Diogo Dalot, and it is always good for United to have as many representatives as possible at the finals.
