Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo recently created headlines when his shirt throwing antics following the Bianconeri's 3-1 win over Genoa on Sunday, with it being reported that the striker was venting his frustration.

Now it has emerged that the 36-year-old was giving his shirt away as a gift to the ball boy, with the Portugal star throwing his shirt away before he walked down the tunnel to the dressing room and it was picked up by a ball boy.

Juventus manager, Andrea Pirlo came to the defence of the star, revealing that it is part of the mark of champions.

“It’s normal he wanted to score a goal, especially seeing that the match had turned out in a certain way. It is part of the attitude of champions who always want to leave their mark," he told Sky Sport.

Ronaldo's frustration could be attributed to the fact that he failed to find the back of the net on the night, but despite that he has been excellent in front of goal this season. scoring 32 goals in all competitions so far.

His goals however look like it might not be enough to help Juventus win the league as the Bianconeri find themselves placed 12 points behind table toppers, Inter Milan as they head into the business end of the season.
