Footballing superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo is widely considered as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, with the striker creating/breaking numerous professional and individual records during his career so far.

Ronaldo has been prolific at every club he has played for and it was no different for Juventus in the Serie A with the striker scoring 33 goals in a calendar year during his time with them, which was the previous best record since 1960.

However, the 36-year-old is no longer the sole owner of the record as the 33-goal mark was matched by Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic. Vlahovic netted in Fiorentina’s 2-2 draw against Sassuolo on Sunday – his 16th goal of the campaign and 33rd of the calendar year, matching Ronaldo’s incredible record.

Another personal record of the five-time Ballon d'Or award winner was also equalled recently as Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski equalled his career best annual total of 69 goals – with the German side not due to play again in 2021 following Friday’s clash against Wolfsburg.

Ronaldo for his part will not let the numbers bother him as he concentrates on helping Manchester United perform well in the remainder of the season, with the striker enjoying a brilliant return to Old Trafford so far - netting 13 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions.
