Argentina icon, Lionel Messi confirmed yesterday in an emotional press conference that he is leaving Barcelona, which has led to strong rumours that the striker will join Paris Saint-Germain soon, considering that the Ligue 1 giants are in contact with his representatives.

AS report that the recent events will come as a blow for Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, who is understood to be keen to leave Turin and that PSG remain one of the only clubs who are capable of signing the 36-year-old.

However, this looks uncertain as signing Messi would make any move for Ronaldo unfeasible even if there is no transfer fee to be paid. There has been talk of Kylian Mbappe moving to Real Madrid, but reports have emerged that even if PSG sell the 22-year-old for a huge transfer fee, that would not be enough to help get Ronaldo to the Parc des Princes.

This will no doubt not please the Portugal superstar, though the player himself has remained mum on his future and has not specified that he is looking to leave the Serie A giants. The 36-year-old even made his pre-season debut for the Bianconeri ahead of the upcoming season as he started during their 3-0 loss to Barcelona in the Joan Camper Trophy on Sunday.
