Footballing superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo is understood to be unhappy with the way things are meandering along at Manchester United and he is said to be trying to motivate his fellow team-mate, though it does not seem to be working.

Ronaldo's pre-match message to United starlet, Jadon Sancho though backfired as the Red Devils were thrashed 4-1 by Watford in the Premier League on Saturday, with the England international being handed a rare start on the night.

The 36-year-old could be seen talking to Sancho before the Watford game, offering advice and undoubtedly trying to motivate him - which did not seem to work as the England starlet struggled on the night.

The Red Devils struggled in a game that they were expected to win, with Joshua King and Ismaila Sarr putting Watford ahead in the first half only for Donny van de Beek to pull one back for United in the 50th minute.

However, they scored two more in stoppage time to hand United a bad score line in the end, with the result meaning that the Old Trafford outfit dropped to seventh in the league table with 17 points, six behind fourth placed West Ham United in the race to finish in the top four.
