Portugal icon, Cristiano Ronaldo is widely considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, with the striker winning numerous professional and individual honours during his career so far - including five Ballon d'Or awards.

Ronaldo is not only the most popular athlete in the world across various social media platforms but also one of the richest in the globe and as per Marca, the 36-year-old surpassed $1billion in career earnings and as of October 2021 and he now has a net worth of $500million.

The striker who moved back to Manchester United in the summer after a gap of 12 years, reportedly earns £480,000-a-week ($643,668) in wages, which takes his annual earnings to £25million ($33.5 million).

Ronaldo's popularity on social media has without doubt contributed to his annual earnings as he has in the past represented Altice, Herbalife, DAZN, MTG, Clear Shampoo, Abbott and Unilever which has bolstered his annual earnings by an extra $45million (£33.2m).

Ronaldo is also the ambassador for Japanese tech company 'SIXPAD', who are worth £1.8billion (£1.3m), and popular app LiveScore.

In 2019, he continued to expand his business portfolio with the opening of a hair transplant clinic in Marbella, following one that was already set up in Madrid and a further 10 in Portugal, generating an extra £85 million ($114 million) a year.
