Portugal icon, Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the fittest athletes in the world and his former chef has now opened up on the strikers strict diet - which includes eating healthy foods, while drinking a lot of water.
Ronaldo who sealed a return back to Manchester United after a gap of 12 years, remains at the peak of his powers despite being 36-years-old, which is partly down to the strict diet regime he carries out off the pitch.
Famous chef, Giorgio Barone who became the five-time Ballon d'Or award winners live-in cook during his time in Turin at Juventus has now revealed the secret towards the superstar remaining in prime condition at his age.
"There are no expensive foods. But healthy foods. I use organic and natural foods – fish, chicken, veal, eggs, avocado, coconut oil and black rice. You have to take care of your body as if taking care of a Ferrari," he said as quoted by the Mirror.
"I cook using coconut oil. It is also important to drink plenty of water – but purified. And drink a lot. Of course, it’s all combined with hard training. But rest is as fundamental as training and nutrition – including in the afternoon. And eating early in the evening, not late."
Known for his intense dedication to diet and fitness, Ronaldo has in the past reiterated that he has no plans of retiring anytime soon and plans to play till he is in his 40s. Looking at the way the superstar takes care of his body, one should not be surprised if they see the player displaying his talents on the pitch come 2026.
