Footballing superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes has reportedly travelled to the United Kingdom to hold crisis talks with the five-time Ballon d'Or award winner over his future at Manchester United.

Ronaldo has been in brilliant form for the Red Devils on his return, scoring 14 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions and despite his form, the club have struggled on the pitch - sitting 22 points behind current Premier League table toppers, Manchester City in the league table while also replacing Ole Gunnar Solaskjaer with Ralf Rangnick as the manager on interim basis.

According to the Sun, the 36-year-old fears that he could end the season without silverware and this has led to Mendes, the player's long-time agent flying down to sit and have a chat with his famous client.

Ronaldo is understood to have expressed frustration with United's performances on the pitch and is not too happy with the style of play employed by Rangnick.

"Cristiano is very concerned about what is happening at United. The team is receiving a lot of criticism and he knows he is regarded as one of the leaders. There are quite a lot of problems and Cristiano is feeling the pressure and is very stressed by the situation," a source said as per the report.

"He desperately wants his United move to be a success, but he is starting to recognise that winning trophies with the current set up could be a real struggle. Jorge came to see him and they spent time chatting through how things are going, what they think are the problems, how they might be solved and what the solutions may be. Nothing has been ruled out."

It will be interesting to see how this situation pans out considering that despite his advancing age, Ronaldo remains one of the best players in the world and is major commercial entity.
