Manchester United put in another abject performance in the Premier League on Monday as they suffered a 1-0 loss to Wolves, with it being a particularly disappointing night for footballing superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo's fellow countryman, Joao Moutinho scored the winner for Wolves in the 82nd minute as he speared in a fine drive from the edge of the box to give Bruno Lage's side a deserved 1-0 success.

This would have been a hard loss to digest for the 36-year-old as this was the first time he had captained United since returning in the summer. While Ronaldo is a regular skipper for Portugal, this was only the 11th time he had captained a side at club level, and suffered his first ever defeat while doing so.

Interim United manager, Ralf Rangnick was disappointed with the result on the night, revealing that it is not an easy job to develop a DNA with and without the ball and that they still have a long way to go to develop a proper identity.

The result on the night mean that the Red Devils dropped to seventh in the league table with 31 points from 19 games, four points behind fourth placed, Arsenal - who have played a game extra.
