Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that footballing superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has answered his critics following his match-winning goal during the Red Devils 3-2 win over Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Ronaldo followed up his injury-time winner against Villarreal at Old Trafford last month by heading the decisive goal in a 3-2 victory over Atalanta. The Portugal icon has been criticised for his work-rate off late, and the Norwegian has reiterated that if anyone wants to criticise him, then they should just watch this game.

"If anyone wants to criticise him for his work rate or attitude, just watch this game, watch how he runs around – he's great in front of goal. I was really pleased with how he led the line. We asked him to run the channels and press more. We were at home and we wanted to get the crowd behind us," Solskjaer said post the game.

"He did everything a centre-forward should do, leading the line and defending. The goal is just what he does better than most."

The win on the night was much needed for Solskjaer himself considering that it lifts the pressure on him following a run of four defeats in seven games. United have now moved to the top of the Group F standings with six points from three games.
