Manchester United created headlines when they signed Portugal icon, Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus in the summer transfer window and the superstar has already made an impact on his return to Old Trafford.

The 36-year-old scored a brace on his second debut, helping the Red Devils beat Newcastle United 4-1 over the weekend and Planet Football have compiled some interesting facts of the player that he recorded during the game.

1) Ronaldo broke the record for longest time period between Premier League goals with his last goal before leaving for Real Madrid coming on 10th May, 2009. In total, he scored a goal after 4507 days.

2) The Portugal icon overtook the likes of Fernando Torres, Carlos Tevez and Eden Hazard to become the 44th highest goalscorer in PL history, with 86 goals to his name.

3) Is only behind two United legends in Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes in terms oldest players to score a PL goal.

4) He became the first United No.7 to score a brace in a PL game at Old Trafford since 2009.

5) His two goals on the night took his overall tally of braces to 200 in his career.

The 36-year-old has shown that age has not slowed his eye and hunger for goals, with the striker also scoring on his Champions League return for the Red Devils, during their shock 2-1 loss to Swiss side, Young Boys.
