Chelsea will consider bringing Romelu Lukaku back to the club from Inter Milan if they fail in their pursuit to sign Borussia Dortmund starlet, Erling Haaland in the summer with the London club being linked with the striker over a potential transfer.

Haaland has established himself as the best young striker in the world following his eye-catching performances for Dortmund for whom he has scored a staggering 33 goals in just 31 games so far. His form has attracted the attention from a number of top European clubs with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain all battling it out with the Blues for his signature.

While Chelsea are keen to sign the youngster, the Telegraph claims that the management will turn their attention to a potential reunion with Lukaku if a move for Haaland falls through. The Belgian has become the talisman for Inter, but with the club experiencing financial difficulties, they might just be forced to sell their star player if a right offer comes in this summer.

Lukaku did not enjoy the best of times at Stamford Bridge after moving to London in 2011 as he made only 12 appearances in his debut season, post which he was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion and Everton on loan.

However, he has looked a completely different player ever since moving to Italy in the summer of 2019, scoring 59 goals in 85 appearances in all competitions for Inter so far.
