Current Champions League holders, Chelsea found themselves in a fix yesterday following news that emerged that their owner, Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the United Kingdom government.

As per various reports, Abramovich would be unable to sell Chelsea after his assets were frozen, though the sale could still go ahead if no proceeds went to Russian billionaire. It has also emerged that the club would not be able to renegotiate contracts with existing players, though all players and staff's salaries would still be paid.
