Thiago Silva has had quite an impact at Chelsea as the Brazilian defender has helped strengthen the Blues defence.
Silva, who joined Chelsea in the summer on a free transfer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain had expired, appears to have already slotted seamlessly into the north Londoners' squad.
And, reports suggests his stay at Chelsea could very well be extended. Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb [via Daily Star] report that the Brazilian defender, who joined the Premier League side on a one-year contract, is already in talks with the Blues over extending it for another year.
He is said to have already told the club of his decision to stay and discussions regarding the same could accelerate in the coming days and weeks. Chelsea are also said to be keen to keep hold Silva another year.
Silva has no doubt played a great part in transforming Chelsea's defence. Lampard's side has conceded just 10 goals in the English top-flight so far this season, and only Tottenham Hotspur have conceded less. While things could still go worse for the Blues, the performances so far suggest there has been drastic improvement in the defensive department that was so leaky last season, and Silva deserves a fair share of credit for that.
