Manchester United and Chelsea are considering a move for Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman after contract talks reportedly broke down between player and club.

The Bundesliga champions have been keen to tie Coman down to a new deal, but according to Sport1, talks over a new deal have stalled due to Coman's astronomical wage demands. The 24-year-old is a key player for Bayern, but his agent, Pini Zahavi, has demanded an annual salary of €8m for his client - an amount the Bavarian giants consider too high.

The report adds that Coman's agent is demanding a high salary for his client due to the fact that former Manchester City star, Leroy Sane, is reportedly on €18m wages following his wage last season.

Bayern have offered Coman improved terms, but the player has reached an impasse with the club, alerting Chelsea and United over his potential availability this summer. According to Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenburg, United have identified France ace Coman as a back-up should they fail to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Taking to Twitter, he stated that United were keen on bringing Coman to the Premier League last year, and would be available for almost half of what Dortmund are demanding for Sancho. The 24-year-old winger scored eight goals and contributed 12 assists in 39 appearances for Bayern last season as he added another Bundesliga title to his trophy collection.
