Two of Europe’s biggest clubs face off on Tuesday as Liverpool travel to the Santiago Bernabeu for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Los Blancos come into this game on the back of an unbeaten streak of 11 matches across competitions. Liverpool, meanwhile have been bizarrely inconsistent but did recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over Arsenal on Saturday.

Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane will be two key absentees for Real Madrid against the Reds while Liverpool will still be without key defenders like Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip. Captain Jordan Henderson is also still ruled out.

Still, there are quite a few talented players in both squads who can turn the game on it's head at any given moment. Here are four of them.....

1. Vinicius Jr

Young Brazilian sensation Vinicius Jr could have a big say on proceedings when these two giants of European football face off in the Champions League.

At the age of just 20, Vinicius has made it a habit to score for and rescue Real Madrid at crucial junctures, which makes him our number one pick for this clash.

2. Diogo Jota

Diogo Jota is the only probable ray of light in what has been a disappointing domestic season for Liverpool.

The Portuguese play-maker has been the best player for the Reds as they try to make a comeback from dismal form which has seen them drop heavily on the Premier League table.

Against Real Madrid, the Reds will definitely need Jota at his best if they are to gain anything from this Champions League clash.

3. Karim Benzema

Now 5th in Real Madrid's all time goal-scorers list, Karim Benzema is now also ranked 4th in the all-time top goal-scorers in UEFA Champions League history behind Ronaldo, Messi and Lewandowski.

With Liverpool still depleted in defence, Benzema could prove to be a handful for the Reds

4. Mohamed Salah

The most important player for Liverpool against Real Madrid will undoubtedly be Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian maestro has been the best player for the Reds in a disappointing season by their standards. He has scored 18 goals in the Premier League and five in the Champions League this season.

This is the first time Salah will face Real Madrid since the 2018 UEFA Champions League final which saw him dislocate his shoulder after a clash with Sergio Ramos. Real Madrid won that final.
