The LaLiga is widely considered as one of the best leagues in the world, with a number of great players plying their trade in England. As we head into the business end of the 2021/22 season, there have been some who have been prolific in front of goal as compared to the others.

Here, we take a look at the race for the Golden Boot award.

1. Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) - 18 goals

Karim Benzema has established himself as the talisman at Real Madrid following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018 and since then he has been key to all of their success.

The Frenchman has continued his brilliant form this season too, and the club will hope that he he can keep on scoring as how he performs will determine whether the Los Blancos end up winning trophies come the end of the season.

2. Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) - 13 goals

It looked for a long time that Vinicius Junior would not live up to his potential after being talked about as one of the best young talents in the world, but he has truly come of age this season as he has just been unplayable at times on the pitch.

The 21-year-old is enjoying a breakout season at Real Madrid and is finally living up to the hype around him.

3. Raul de Tomas (Espanyol) - 13 goals

Raul de Tomas started his career at Real Madrid as a youth player but it has been at Espanyol where he has starred, scoring 41 goals in just 78 appearances for them.

His performances have seen him get a national call up and at 27-years-old, he is a subject of interest among the top clubs in Spain.

Joselu has played for the likes of Real Madrid and Newcastle United in the past, and while those stints did not work, he looks at home at Alaves, scoring 12 goals so far this season.

Juanmi has played for a number of clubs during his career so far, and it has been at Real Betis this season that the world has got to see his talents in front of goal.

He signed a five-year deal with Betis in 2019 and the club will hope that he can continue this form going forward.
