Barcelona are set to meet with Ousmane Dembele's agents to discuss his future at the club.

The 24-year-old is out of contract next year and reportedly has no intention of staying beyond then at Camp Nou. Mundo Deportivo claimed last month that talks over a new deal had slowed down, with Barcelona fearing that the forward might have a pre-contract agreement in principle with another club.

However, they now claim that despite their financial woes, Barcelona are keen to discuss fresh terms with the Frenchman. The Blaugrana have exceeded LaLiga's salary cap by 40 percent, and risk not being able to include their newly signed players in the squad next season.

The report adds that the Catalan giants have planned to hold discussions with Dembele's agents to determine where his future lies. The winger is currently recovering from a knee injury he suffered during France's Euro 2020 game with Hungary, and is expected to b sidelined until the end of October.

Marca had previously claimed that if Barcelona fail to agree terms with Dembele for a new contract, then they will look to sell the winger in this summer's transfer window. Dembele has scored 30 goals and provided 21 assists in 118 appearances for the Catalan club, including 11 goals and five assists during the 2020-21 campaign.
