Barcelona are reportedly willing to sell striker, Antoine Griezmann in the summer as they look to reduce their wage bill with a report in Metro stating that they will offer the Frenchman to Chelsea, in the hopes of laying him off.

Barcelona who are currently in debt of a large sum of money have already signed the likes of Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay and Eric Garica on free transfers, but the new arrivals may be prevented from representing their new club until they drastically reduce an astronomical wage bill.

What is even more concerning is that unless they don't reduce their wage bill, they will not be able to offer a new contract to Lionel Messi, who is currently a free agent after his contract with the Catalan giants expired on July 1.

The club management have been looking to free up enough funds in order to offer Messi a new contract, by offloading the likes of Junior Firpo, who is set to join Leeds, Francisco Trincao is moving to Wolves - while Konrad De La Fuente Jean Claire-Todibo and Matheus Fernandes have all departed the Nou Camp.

However, this will not be enough as the management must look for a way to sell some of their top earners like Samuel Umtiti, Philippe Coutinho and Miralem Pjanic - with all three of the players understood to be not in the plans of Ronald Koeman for next season.

The report also goes on to state that Griezmann is up for sale and that Chelsea have been informed of this development, considering that they are currently in search of a new striker. It will be interesting to see how this situation pans out in the near future, as the Frenchman has struggled to adapt to life at Camp Nou and could be open for a move in the summer.
