Barcelona have reportedly put in news stories of footballing superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo's positive coronavirus test at their training ground as a warning to the club's players to stay in line and follow the necessary safety protocols.

Ronaldo was arguably the most high profile football player to test positive for coronavirus after he picked up the virus while on international duty with Portugal in October 2020. This led to the 36-year-old missing Juventus' important Champions League group stage clash with Barcelona, which the Bianconeri went on to lose 2-0.

While the walls of Barcelona's training ground are adorned with pictures of club legend, Lionel Messi - according to AS, one of the dressing rooms at their Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper facility, a story relating to Ronaldo's positive test is pinned up.

It has been put up in order to serve a reminder to the Catalan stars to live by the strict precautions in place to keep them Covid free. Under the news article is a warning, “the competition is at stake” and in red letters “the rules are to be met”.

The warnings seemed to help as only one first-team player in Sergi Roberto missed game-time due to the pandemic, though they failed to win either the LaLiga or Champions League trophy, in what was a disappointing season by their high standards.
