Barcelona are reportedly preparing to sign Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay as soon as the on-going campaign ends.

Club president Joan Laporta is eager to kickstart his revolution project of the first-team squad, and according to Cadena Ser, Aguero and Depay are set to speardhead his project.

Manchester City have already announced that the Argentine is set to leave the club once the season ends, and Depay, who previously insisted he is "happy with Lyon", looks to be on his way out of the Ligue 1 club, too.

Renowned transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano tweeted that both Aguero and Depay have been offered contracts by the LaLiga giants. He claims that the City striker has been offered a contract until June 2023 and his salary reduced to below €10m per year, and Depay is also set to be offered terms until either 2023 or 2024.

Earlier this week, Laporta warned that Barcelona will undergo major changes this summer with decisions to be taken as early as next week. He told reporters "renovation work" must be done in the organisation following an "incomprehensible" failure to win LaLiga.

"A cycle has come to an end and we are working on a renewal process," Laporta said. "From next week, you will see several decisions which must be taken. We have to work hard to build a competitive team to win league titles and Champions Leagues.

"When I speak of a cycle coming to an end or about renovation work, it's because it's what I believe must be done. We won the Copa del Rey, which we are proud of, but we were knocked out of the Champions League early and have lost La Liga incomprehensibly from my point of view."
