Barcelona are reportedly keen to offload Samuel Umtiti and Miralem Pjanic this summer as they look to lighten their wage bill and free up funds.

The LaLiga giants find themselves in debt, excess of £1.1billion, and are desperately trying to lower their gargantuan wage bill. Barca have already brought in Sergio Aguero, Memphis Depay, and Eric Garcia on free transfers, but the club will need to sell players if they are to offer Lionel Messi a new contract.

The Argentine is now a free agent, and has reportedly been offered a contract by Paris Saint-Germain. The Ligue 1 giants are trying to lure Messi to the Parc des Princes and have reportedly offered him a deal higher than the one put forth by Barcelona earlier this week.

Goal claim Barcelona have offered to release Umtiti and Pjanic from their contracts, and will hold conversations with both players over their future at the club. Pjanic still has three years on his current deal, while Umtiti has two, and offloading these two players will save the club money, and free up crucial funds that can be put towards convincing Messi to stay.

In addition to the pair, Mundo Deportivo report that Ronald Koeman's side are willing to accept an offer of just £21million for Philippe Coutinho, three-and-a-half years after paying £143m for him. The former Liverpool man has failed to impress at Camp Nou, and was sent out on loan to Bayern Munich in the 2019-20 season.

The report adds that Milan are interested in acquiring Coutinho's services, and the Brazilian has been linked with a move back to the Premier League, with Arsenal reportedly interested in the 29-year-old.
