Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to break tradition by wearing special stripes for the upcoming El Clasico on Sunday.

LaLiga leaders Madrid welcome Barca to the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend, but will swap out their crisp white stripes for the all-new black kit to mark the club's 120th anniversary.

The Los Blancos linked up with Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto during the 2014/15 season to create the club's slick black third kit eight years ago, and now Yamamoto is back as Madrid celebrate 20 years of working with Adidas.

The new fourth kit does not contain the Adidas logo but instead has the Y-3 emblem accompanying the Real Madrid logo and Fly Emirates sponsor.

Additionally, Thibaut Courtois will also be wearing a pink goalkeeper kit for the game and there are several other accessories and special warm-up attire.

Similarly, Barcelona will not be wearing their traditional home colours at the request of club president Joan Laporta who has requested the team to wear the ‘senyera kit' introduced in 2019. The yellow and red colours on the kit represent the Catalonia region Barcelona belongs to.

Madrid are currently 10 points clear at the top of the LaLiga table, while Barcelona are third, five points behind second-placed Sevilla, but have a game in hand.
